These are SO good and gooey and chocolat-y. YUM!!!

1 package caramels

5 tablespoons cream

1 cup flour

1 cup oatmeal

3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt caramels with cream in microwave. Cool slightly. Combine flour, oatmeal, butter, brown sugar and salt. Press 1/2 this mixture into a 9 X 13 inch ungreased pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chips and nuts onto crust. Pour caramel mixture over this and sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Return to oven and bake 15 to 20 more minutes. Chill 1-2 hours.
