Caramel Fudge Brownies

I'ts impossible to stop eating these things. I'm a huge caramel fan and these are SO good!!!

1 (14 ounce) package caramels, unwrapped

1/2 cup evaporated milk

1 cup butter or margarine

2 cups sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla

4 eggs

1 1 /4 cups flour

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chunks (2 cups), divided

1 teaspoon oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 X 9 inch pan. In small saucepan, cook caramels and milk over low heat until caramels are melted and smooth, stirring frequently. Melt butter in microwave or in saucepan. Blend in sugar, vanilla and eggs. Stir in flour, cocoa and salt; mix well. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the chocolate chunks. Spoon and spread in pan. Gently drizzle caramel mixture over batter to prevent caramel from reaching bottom of bars. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until set. In small saucepan or microwave, melt remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chunks with oil over low heat until smooth. Drizzle over warm brownies. Cool 20 minutes. Refrigerate 1 1/2 hours or until chocolate is set.
