Becky's Meatloaf

This is a combination of 3 recipes I've made over the years, my Mom's from the old Betty Crocker Cookbook, my Aunts from our Family Cookbook, and a "bachelor cookbook" my husband had when we were first married. I took parts of each one that I liked and put it together to create this one. We always have this with mashed potatoes and peas. Comfort food at it's best.

4 slices bread, cubed

2/3 cup milk

1 pounds ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

2 eggs

1 tablespoon toasted minced onion

1 teaspoon sage or poultry seasoning (I use Savory Spice Shops, Sage and Savory)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Mix together and place in loaf pan. Brush with topping and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.

TOPPING

1/3 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 teasoon nutmeg

Mix in small bowl.
