Meatball Stroganoff

Most of my family do not like mushrooms, but they can easily be added to the sauce as you cook it to make it more authentic.

Meatballs:

1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup dry bread crumbs

1/4 cup milk

2 tablespoons finely chopped onion

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 egg

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Mix ingredients.  Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls.  Bake on un-greased baking pan until light brown 20 to 25 minutes.

Sauce:

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 cup onion, chopped

3 tablespoons flour

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon ketchup

1 can condensed beef bouillon

1/4 cup water

1 1/2 cups sour cream

1/8 teaspoon pepper

Cooked noodles

Make meatballs and cook or bake. While this is baking, making sauce.   In large saucepan, cook onion in butter or margarine until onions are tender, but not brown.  Stir in flour.  Add garlic powder, pepper, ketchup, bouillon and water.  Cook and stir until mixture bubbles.  Add meatballs and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.  Stir occasionally while meatballs are heating.  Mix in sour cream.  Heat, but do not boil.  Serve over cooked noodles.
