Irish Bread

3 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

6 level teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 cups milk or enough to make the dough stiff

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon caraway seeds

1/2 cup or more raisins, if desired


Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all ingreidents except milk. Add milk and knead (mix) for a few minutes. Put it into a greased round pan or bowl and bake for 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Brush with butter when taken out of the oven.
