I've made so many white breads in my breadmakers over the years and I just wanted to add one good white bread in my cookbook. So I tested several and this one came out on top. It has such nice flavor, a good crumb, cuts nicely and can be used for toast or even sandwiches.
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
3 cup bread flour
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
Add ingredients according to your manufacturer's directions. Make sure you check your bread after it mixes for a little while, if it's too stiff and dry add a little water, if it's too wet add a little flour. All breadmakers bake a little differently. You want a nice soft dough.
