Christmas Sugar Cookies

Christmas Sugar Cookies

I've tried all kinds of sugar cookies and finally just kept coming back to this one. It's got nice flavor and bakes up very nice whether you like them soft or crunchy this one will do the trick. Just bake it shorter or longer depending on your preference. I found it in my Mom's recipe box, it was from a long time family friend.

1 cup margarine

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1/4 cup cream of evaporated milk

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

3 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Mix with electric mixer in order given.  Chill dough well, best if chilled overnight.  Roll to about 1/8 inch thickness and cut into shapes.  Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are slightly brown.  Watch carefully.  Decorate with frosting and colored sugars.
