Family Stories:

Alvin was born and raised in the Plymouth area of Wisconsin. We know when he was young he worked for a Cheese Factory as noted in a newspaper article where he crushed the tip of his finger.
In his early years, as family story has it, he owned a tavern in Waldo, Wisconsin which burned down.
After that Alvin worked for Kohler Company the rest of his life. He was a chauffer to the Kohler sisters and also worked on the train line.

Emily was born in Haven, Wisconsin, a township just north of Sheboygan, on a farm right on the shore of Lake Michigan. She was a housewife much of her life, but also later worked as a nurses aide at Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan Wis. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed playing cards.
They had 2 children and 8 grandchildren.
