Cranana Jam

This is not one of the jams I make yearly, only because by the time fall rolls around and the cranberries appear in the stores I've had enough canning and freezing for the year. This jam is still popular with my family when I do get it made and has great flavor. Many people don't think of bananas in jam, but it's actually very good.

3 cups cranberries

1 1/2 cups water

2 cups mashed bananas

7 cups sugar

6 ounces liquid pecton

1 teaspoon lemon juice

In a large saucepan over medium heat combine cranberries and watar. Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in mashed banana and sugar. Increase heat to medium-high and boil for 1 minute. Stir in pectin and lemon juice. Seal in hot sterilized jars.
