Aunt Evvy's Nut Bread

This recipe I found in a notebook from my mother-in-law with a note that is was from her sister-in-law, Evvy. On the side she wrote...
1 c. sour milk=1 c. sweet milk plus 1 TBL vinegar or lemon juice OR
1 cup buttermilk, let stand 5 minutes.

2 eggs

2 cups brown sugar

2 cups sour milk

4 cups flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

2 tsp baking soda

1 cup ch walnuts

Beat egg & sugar, add sour milk. Add flour sifted with salt, baking powder & soda. Stir in nuts. Bake in gr bread pans in mod. oven 350 degrees for 1 hr. Makes 2 loaves.
