Clara Baird's Cinnamon Bread

This recipe has no title. From reading it, I think it's a Cinnamon Bread. Could be Cinnamon Rolls, but it is put into a bread pan instead of cut into rolls. It's from Nanny's pile of recipes. A note from my husband's Aunt with the recipe states that Clara Baird was a neighbor that lived down the "state road hill" from them.

Scald 1/2 cup milk

Add 3 tablespoons shortening, 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 teasp. salt. Cool by adding 1/2 cup water and 1 beaten egg.
Add 1 yeast cake . Stir in 3 cups sifted flour and mix well.

Roll on well floured board to 8 X16 inches. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
Roll like jelly roll and place in greased tin. Cover and let rise until double in bulk (about 1 hour)
Bake in moderate oven about 1 hour.
