Sacerine Pickles

This is an interesting recipe that was in my husband's grandmother's collection. It is not in her handwriting and is written on a folded piece of yellowed lined paper. I am going to write it out exactly as it is written. It is old enough, that the words are written by "sound" than spelling. What the first word in the directions is though I really can't tell.

1 gal vinigar

1 cup ground mustard

1/2 cup salt

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon sacerin pdr.

Spiees if disered. Put in large jar. Mix thurely. Wash small cucumbers. Can add to this daily as you pick them, stir occasinily for two or three days as the mustard settels to the bottom.
