Gilda's Cherry Kuchen

Crust:

1/2 cup butter

1 cup flour

1 T. sugar

1 egg yolk

Mix flour and sugar, chop in butter. Add yolk and speck of salt. Mix and put into oblong pan 1/4 in. thick with hands.

Filling:

1 can unsweetened cherries

1 cup sugar

3 T. cornstarch

salt

Cook until thick-cool. when cool put on top of curst. Then top with 2 eggs beaten, 1/2 cup sugar and 2 T. cream. Bake 350 for 15 min. Reduce to 325 degrees for 30 min. Serve with whipped cream.
