Aunt Lorraine's Apple Pie

This is from the Family Cookbook, submitted by my aunt.

5 to 7 tart apples

3/4 c. sugar, may be increased to 1 c.

2 T. flour

Dash of salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1 recipe double pie crust

2 T. butter or oleo

Peel, core and slice apples. Mix sugar, flour, salt and spices; mix well with apples, coating eveningly. Put in 9-inch pastry-lined pan. Dot with butter. Put on top crust, sealing edges with milk. Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Cut slits, steam vents. Bake at 400° for 50 minutes.
