Grandma's Beer Batter

Growing up in Wisconsin where every Friday night was "Fish Fry", when we didn't go out this is the recipe my Grandma used.

2 eggs

1 tablespoon seasoning salt

1/2 bottle or can of beer

Flour to thicken, about 1 cup


Oil for frying

Heat oil in deep fryer or in pan. Beat egg well with mixer. Add beer and flour. Batter is quite runny. It is of the right consistency when it clings to a spoon. Dip pieces and fry in deep fat until flaky. My deep fryer says 350 degrees for 4 to 6 minutes for fish.
