I found this recipe in one of my cookbooks and it was called "Mock Cheese Souffle". I've played with the recipe somewhat and I decided it was pretty much a bread pudding made with cheese so that's what we call it. It will fall just like a souffle' and just becomes a bunch of yummy, cheesy goodness!!!
2 slices bread, cubed
2/3 cup shredded cheese
2 eggs
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon salt
In small casserole or two cassoulettes, layer ½ the bread. Top with ½ the cheese. Repeat. In small bowl combine eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce and salt. Pour over cheese. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Makes 2 servings.
