Long's Peak Trail Mix

This was originally made for a very special occasion. When my husband and son literally DID climb Long's Peak in Colorado!!! I took a basic trail mix recipe and subtracted all the things they didn't like and added all the things they did and it turned out really good.

6 cups old-fashioned oats

3/4 cup vegetable oil

2 1/4 cups peanuts

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

3/4 cup honey

1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 bag M & M's

2 cups banana chips

1 cup raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In skillet, lightly toast oats in oil. Add peanuts. Combine the brown sugar, honey and cinnamon; add to oat mixture. Cook and stir for 5 minutes. Spread in two ungreased 15 X 20 inch baking pans. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown, stirring every 5 minutes. Cool, stirring occasionally. Stir in M & M's, banana chips and raisins. Store in airtight container.
