Chocolate Mint Cookie Bars-Karen

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 (16oz) can Hershey syrup

4 eggs

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients. Pour into an 11x17 inch pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

MINT:

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

3 to 4 drops green food coloring

1/2 cup margarine

3/4 teaspoon peppermint extract

Mix all ingredients and spread on cooled cake. Refrigerate 20 minutes.

TOPPING:

10 ounces chocolate chips

2 tablespoons milk

1/2 cup margarine

Melt ingredients together and spread on cooled cake. Refrigerate 1/2 hour. Cut in squares and serve. Can be frozen.
