Dad's Chocolate Cherry Bars-Brenda

Cake:

1 chocolate fudge cake mix

1 can (21oz.) cherry pie filling

1 teaspoon almond extract

2 eggs, beaten

Fudge glaze:

5 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/3 cup milk

1 cup (6oz) semisweet chocolate chips

Mix cake ingredients together by hand. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in greased 9X13 inch pan. Cool 10 minutes. Make glaze by combining butter, sugar and milk in small saucepan. Bring to boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in chips until smooth. Spread over still-warm cake.
