Mix together:

2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

In separate bowl, cream thoroughly:

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup sugar

Blend in 2 unbeaten eggs, beating well after each and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with 3/4 cup milk. Begin and end with dry ingredients.

Stir in:

1 cup salted mixed nuts, chopped

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup well drained marschino cherry halves

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Bake in 15x10 inch greased and floured jelly roll pan for 25 to 30 minutes until center is lightly browned. Frost with Brown Butter Frosting.
