Hard Candy-Becky

1 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons white sugar

1 cup + 1 tablespoon white corn syrup

1/2 cup water

Flavoring oil and food coloring

Powdered sugar

Spread a large piece of heavy duty aluminum foil with powdered sugar. Mix together sugar, syrup and water. Cook over medium heat until candy thermometer registers 300 degrees. Do not stir while cooking. Remove from heat; add 1/2 teaspoon each of food coloring and flavoring. Stir well and pour slowly in ribbons over the powdered sugar. Cool. Break into pieces.
