Broccoli Ham Dish- Amy

2 packages (10 oz) broccoli

2 cups cooked rice

6 tablespoon butter, cubed

2 cups fresh bread crumbs

1 medium onion, chopped

3 tablespoons flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

3 cups milk

1 1/2 lbs. cooked ham, cubed

Shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese

Cook broccoli, drain.  Spoon rice into a 9x13 pan.  Place broccoli over rice. Melt butter in a large skillet. Sprinkle 2 tbsp. of melted butter over the breadcrumbs and set aside.  In remaining butter sauté onion.  Add flour, salt and pepper, stirring constantly until blended, stir in milk. Bring to a boil, cook and stir until thickened, about two minutes.  Pour over rice and broccoli. Sprinkle with crumbs. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.  Sprinkle with cheese.
