Chicken on Rice-Lorraine and Millie

1 cup raw rice

2 cups boiling water, approximately or 1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup chopped celery (optional)

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 can cream of celery soup

1/2 to 1 package dry onion soup mix

Chicken pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine first 5 ingredients and spread in large cake type pan. Lay pieces of chicken on top of rice mixture; sprinkle onion soup on top. Cover. Bake 2 1/2 hours; uncover last 1/2 hour.
