Chocolate Snickerdoodles-Joyce C.

1 cup shortening

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

2 3/4 cups flour

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup cocoa

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add remaining ingredients; mix together, also the milk. Roll batter into balls the size of a walnut, then roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
