Apple Pie-Lorraine

5 to 7 tart apples

3/4 cup sugar, (may be increased to 1 cup)

2 tablespoons enriched flour

Dash of salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 recipe double pie crust

2 tablespoons butter or oleo

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Peel, core and slice apples. Mix sugar, flour, salt and spices; mix well with apples, coating evenly. Put in 9 inch pastry lined pan. Dot with butter. Put on top crust, sealing edges with milk. Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Cut slits, steam vents. Bake for 50 minutes.
