Fresh Strawberry Pie-Lorraine

9 inch pie shell

1 quart fresh strawberries, or more

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 cup water

2 tablespoons strawberry Jello powder

Fill shell with berries. Combine sugar, cornstarch and water; cook until thick and clear. Add Jello powder and mix well. Cool slightly; pour over berries. Chill and top with Cool Whip.
