Vegetable Beef-Earlene

3 pounds beef stew meat

6 cups water

2 or more cups tomato juice, I usually use 1 large can

1/3 cup chopped onion

1 tablespoon salt

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1/4 teaspoon chili powder

2 bay leaves

1 cup diced celery

1 cup sliced carrots

1 cup diced potatoes

1 cup chopped cabbage

Brown meat. Add water, tomato juice, onion, seasonings and vegetables. Cover and simmer 2 to 3 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving. Tastes great with hot homemade biscuits.
